SKSA TOURNAMENT RULES 2009

Texas Nations Rules

Nations Baseball National Rules

The "no-slash" rule is in effect at SKSA run tournaments.

The no-slash rule is for ages 12 & below.  When a batter, in the umpires judgement, squares to show bunt, he may not pull back and swing away.  This is classified as a safety rule.  The penalty is that the batter is declared out, runners may not advance and the 3rd base coach receives a warning.  On a subsequent infraction the 3rd base coach will also be ejected.  This is a separate rule from the "squeeze rule", where with a runner on 3rd attempting to steal home, the batter must bunt or take the pitch.  COACHES - do not teach your corner infielders to crash to close in a "slash" situation.  Again, this is a safety rule, if the batter should accidently swing away, your fielder could be seriously injured.  If we feel that coaches are teaching the fielders to crash, we will remove this rule from our events.

Texas Statutes Regarding Contact with Sports Officials

Insider Bat (www.insiderbat.com) has been selected as a sponsor for the upcoming Spring Break Classic.  Insider Bat is a training tool designed to teach proper grip and swing mechanics.  Insider Bat will be awarding free training aids to the team participants in our Championship games on March 29th.  They will also have product displays and staff demonstrations at Rothwood  on Saturday March 28th.  Please support our sponsors!

URGENT Notices

Park Rules

Coaches and Parents, despite highlighting the SKSA park rules, we continue to have issues with guests bringing their animals, skates, skateboards, bikes, and scooters into our baseball facilities.  These are all prohibited and the rules are in place for the protection of all of our patrons and to prevent health and safety concerns.

Effective immediately, SKSA will begin enforcing these rules by asking those guests to leave our facility. Regardless of how well mannered or trained your pet may be, please leave them at home,  We will not allow them to be present at any of the SKSA facilities.

The ONLY exception to these rules will be to accomodate service animals.

We ask that you all help us maintain a safe and healthy environment for our kids and their families by complying with these simple park rules and by reporting any violations or other safety issues to a SKSA official.

Thank you in advance for your understanding,
